Janie Flores Appointed Vice-Chair of the Latin American Business Association

The Latin American Business Association (LABA) has announced the appointment of Janie Flores, CEO & Founder of Buena Vida Media, as Vice-Chair of the preeminent business association in South Florida. Flores has been a member of LABA since 2013 and has served as a Board Member since 2016. Most recently Buena Vida Media was awarded the Boutique Public Relations Agency of the Year 2021 by LABA, and Flores was a Hispanic Woman of Distinction honoree in 2020.

LABA was founded in 2008, amidst the financial crisis, with the mission of revitalizing and encouraging business amongst its members in the South Florida region and in Latin America. Members are from all industries and LABA can boast that they are the only association where union and nonunion members serve together on the board of directors. The association is also committed to serving the less fortunate in the community and hosts a robust outreach program that includes a Thanksgiving Dinner Giveaway, Children’s Easter Basket Giveaway, New Mother’s Giveaway, and Elderly Christmas Basket Giveaway. Flores will be instrumental in developing new initiatives like the Economic Reboot Membership and the Latina Economic Advancement Project to help mitigate the negative consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic for small business owners in South Florida.

“Janie brings a wealth of experience to the role of Vice-Chair of LABA. She has the respect and confidence of our membership because of her incredible capacity to innovate and create growth opportunities for business owners in the face of challenges like the pandemic. Her leadership is vital in the ongoing economic recovery for the business community in South Florida,” declared Alina Delgado, Chair, Latin American Business Association.

“The Latin American Business Association plays an outsized role in the revitalization and renewal of the economy for the small and micro business community in South Florida as we emerge from the pandemic. It is an honor to serve as Vice-Chair and help lead the launch of the Economic Reboot Membership and the Latina Economic Advancement Project which will be a catalyst for the growth of small businesses in the region and across the nation,” said Janie Flores, CEO & Founder, Buena Vida Media.

LABA hosts monthly networking events with elected officials as guest speakers. The next event is “Cocktails & Art” benefiting the Latina Economic Advancement Project (LEAP), and the unveiling of the limited-edition scarf by artist Elizabeth ErazoBáez on September 15, 2021, 6:00 p.m. at Miami Dade College – Hialeah, Room 5101, Hialeah, FL.
